Skilled Spanish. Effortlessly.
¡Hola! Soy Isaías, pero en inglés my name’s Isaiah, and I’m originally from the greater Milwaukee, Wisconsin area. In 2014 I spent an academic year abroad in Barcelona. To this day, I’m still in Spain. Anything Spanish has always intrigued me. So much so, it made it hard to leave. Throughout my college years in Madrid, I worked as a private tutor, teaching assistant at a local Spanish school, teacher at a language academy – and I even volunteered as a teacher for adult students.
After getting my B.A. in Spanish from Saint Louis University — Madrid Campus, I worked at a Google Partner in Madrid. I learned how to work in Spanish with coworkers from Spain, Latin America and beyond. I know what it means to speak a different language at both school and in the workplace.
I currently work at Saint Louis University — Madrid Campus where I speak Spanish on a daily basis. I have become an expert on helping U.S. students and colleagues acclimate to Spain and its language.
My areas of expertise include linguistics, teaching languages to non-native speakers, and Spanish phonetics and phonology.

Spainless stems from my dedication to Spanish and teaching. I wanted to recreate the immersive and supportive language learning that teachers, host families, and friends fostered for me. With over ten years of contact with the Spanish-speaking world, I wanted to provide one-on-one classes that could help anyone across the United States, regardless of access to in-person Spanish classes.
Quality education emphasizing evident learning objectives is rare. Many language teachers tend to focus on grammar points, but they miss the mark by not focusing on students’ needs. Explanations that focus too much on theory become inapplicable to real-life situations. For that reason, Spainless stands for “Skilled Spanish. Effortlessly.”
My vision consists of el cómo and el porqué. The cómo – or “how” – keeps you as a student in mind which means your progress will be tracked and learning outcomes will be clear from the beginning and throughout your learning process. The porqué (and yes, there’s a reason why there isn’t a space in that word) – or “why” – consists of you progressively getting better, no plateaus or roadblocks in your way. You want to see results, and so do I as an educator.
As an independent professional, I can better serve you because I am not restricted by a school’s curriculum. Special attention is put on your Spanish proficiency.
«Isaiah is a wonderful tutor! He is so well versed in Spanish and explains things very thoroughly and clearly. I feel comfortable asking for clarification on things I don’t understand. Isaiah does a great job making me feel comfortable exploring the Spanish language!» Milwaukee, WI
“Isaiah’s Spanish classes were a huge help to improve my produced language as well as comprehension. His careful and individualized approach took into account both my learning style/preference and my weakest areas in the language.” 100% recommend! Franklin, WI
“I learned so much from Isaiah, I had just moved to Spain and needed to brush up on my Spanish that I haven’t practiced since high school and he helped reintroduce content and teach me things that are native to Spain. I would highly recommend him as a Spanish tutor, whether you are needing to brush up or need help with specific grammatical areas, he is a perfect tutor.” Destin, FL
